Pakistan Army(Armed forces) found evidence of foreign conspiracy against PM Imran

ISLAMABAD:

Contrary to what Prime Minister Imran Khan has said, the military leadership told a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting on March 27 that it had no evidence that the United States was threatening or involved in a plot to oust the PTI government.

On March 27, the powerful NSC led by PM Imran convened to discuss the telecommunications cable the PTI government said was evidence of an American plot to overthrow the government in Pakistan.

The NSC after the meeting issued a statement expressing deep concern about the non-communicative language used in the cable, saying it was tantamount to interfering in Pakistan's internal affairs. The NSC then decided to lift the border to the United States.

The NSC statement was then used by Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri to block a vote of no confidence in the development that created the constitutional crisis.

Prime Minister Imran said the NSC had endorsed the government's view that a no-confidence vote was part of a plot to oust him.

But sources in the right places told the Express Tribune on Monday that a misconception had been given about military leadership supporting the government's vision.

One source said the prime minister could make the minutes of the meeting public because the NSC statement was intended only for the media. There are minutes for the NSC meeting, ”the source asked. “All participants must sign the minutes of the meeting, the source added that the minutes of the meeting are considered official documents when all the participants in the NSC sign. This indicates that the military leadership has not yet signed. minutes of the meeting. The source went on to say that according to the relevant authorities that the US did not send a letter to the government. It was an examination of the Pakistani ambassador after it meets with US officials.

Another question raised was the delay in convening an NSC meeting. "The government can show any action it has taken between March and March 27," the source said.

The relevant authorities, the source added, have found no evidence of any link between a no-confidence vote and an embassy that has since exacerbated ongoing political and constitutional issues.

Another indication that the military leadership was reluctant to acknowledge allegations that the prime minister was plotting was a recent speech by Army Chief of Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Contrary to the prime minister's statement, the military chief said Pakistan had enjoyed a long-term relationship with the United States, adding that the US was Pakistan's largest export partner.

General Qamar's statement on the Russian crisis in Ukraine is also significantly different from the situation adopted by the PTI government.

The military commander not only expressed concern about Russia's invasion but also noted that Russia's violence against a minority could not be tolerated.

This highlights the fact that military leadership may not be on the same page with the PTI government on certain foreign policy issues.

However, it is interesting that the military leadership does not disclose to the public any statement stating whether they approve of the foreign-sponsored conspiracy against the prime minister or otherwise.

After a turbulent day in Pakistan's history on Sunday, a military spokesman said the military was "not at all" a part of what was happening in the National Assembly.
